Dipping my toe into Celtic music

Last month I had the pleasure to work with the celtic violinist Kieran Fahy on a short programme of Irish music. We were looking mainly at the ballad repertoire (eg ‘Danny Boy’) and I was delighted with the result, which combined violin, ‘cello and voice.

It’s a new style for me, and I hope to have the chance to do more – especially as I have now proved to myself that playing ‘cello and singing at the same time is possible…

Here’s Kieran playing a version of ‘Were you at the Rock’.
