Here, as promised, are more details of our Viriditas weekend (see previous post).
In workshops over the past two months, the Viriditas Community Choir has come together to develop the musical ideas of Stevie Wishart for a piece designed specially to be sung in the Botanical Gardens in Gent.
These workshops culminate this Sunday 28th October in a day-long developing and performing of this ecological piece inspired by the lingua ignota of Hildegard Von Bingen.
Four half-hour performances are planned, based around the canonical hours of 9:00, 12:00, 15:00 and 17:00. The first three of these performances will each develop one musical idea; the last and ‘main’ performance, at 17:00, will bring together all these musical strands into one concentrated whole.
