Here is the fifth antiphon in my song cycle St Ursula at lauds. It starts the second half of the cycle and introduces some new ideas (notably the heart beat), but it is also linked to the previous four pieces in the series (see last Wednesday’s post).
As I recorded and revisited this chant (twice) back in March – very early on in the project – I have kept the original numbering, which is why it’s #2 (4).
St Ursula at lauds: no. 5 aer enim volat
because air is in flight and fulfils its duty in all creatures and the firmament sustains it and the air feeds on that strength
